Microsoft Windows 7.. Coming 2010

Well, it’s official.. Microsoft have officially announced that their next version of Windows, aptly named Windows 7 (well done to that man!) is due for launch in 2010. Well, that’s if you believe that it won’t be delayed..

Anyway, Vista aside, Microsoft have targeted 3 year blocks between Windows releases as their ideal timeframe and Windows 7 is no different. According to sources at the Redmond company that official 3 year period began the day that Vista launched January 30th 2007.

Based on that logic that’s a paper-release of January 30th 2010, or thereabouts.

I wouldn’t wait up the night of the 30th though, Microsoft have once again stated that “it will ship when it meets the quality benchmark we expect”. Still, anything that takes attention off Vista is surely a good thing in my eyes.
