Springdial for iPhone - Proper quick-dialling finally !

I found this over at Apple iPhone School and it’s the what I’ve wanted since the day I got my iPhone.

On all my old phones I have had quickdials set for numbers that I phone on a regular basis, like home and the such. The iPhone has ‘Favourites’ but it just isn’t really that quick to use. It wasn’t a deal breaker, but it was a pain never-the-less.

Springdial lets you add people directly to the springboard, meaning one finger press, and you’re on a call. The software takes the images from your address book if you have them, and if not uses the default springdial icon. When using the photos, it obviously looks much better, giving you an excuse to go around taking photos of everyone ! And of course, with 1.1.3 and above, you can move these icons onto a screen all of their own, making it nice and easy to navigate.

It’s such a simple and obvious app, you have to wonder why Apple didn’t do it first !
