Bank of America financial analyst Scott Craig has cited channel investigations which show an iPhone capable of faster, third-generation cellular Internet access as showing that iPhone 2 will be showing up in small numbers in May, with production increasing from then. That, he says, implies a launch announcement in the calendar second quarter.

Given that so far, the only rumours we seem to be getting about the 3G iPhone are coming from banks and the financial quarters, I’m not going to believe anything until I see something with an Apple logo stamped on it!
