With a nation-wide shortage of Apple iPhone’s hitting the US, the feeling over on TUAW is that everything points towards an imminent product refresh.

They predict an announcement regarding a 3G iPhone at WWDC, with a shipment date of September. This certainly looks possible, as any new phone would need to go through rigourous testing before release. The shortages right now could mean the possibility of at least a capacity bump before then.

Looking on the Apple Store web site, the current delivery time for either of the iPhone models is 5-7 days. The UK store however is just 24 hours.
