Software updates galore!

With no hardware launches this Tuesday, Apple saw fit to release a collection of software and firmware updates for their Mac line.

Apple Aluminium keyboard firmware 1.0

First up is new firmware for the Apple aluminium keyboard. The update is for both the wired and wireless versions, and can be downloaded either from Apple’s website or through software update.

This firmware update addresses an issue with the aluminum Apple Keyboard and the aluminum Apple Wireless Keyboard where a key may repeat unexpectedly while typing. The update also addresses other issues. Mac OS X 10.5.2 is required before installing this update.

Macbook EFI firmware updates

Also released were EFI firmware updates for the entire Macbook line. The Air, Macbook and Macbook Pro updates can be downloaded either here, or through Software Update as normal.

This update fixes several issues to improve the stability of [MacBook, MacBook Pro, and MacBook Air] computers.

iMac EFI update to 1.3

Along with the Macbook updates, there’s also a similar update for the iMac range. The update, according to Apple, fixes stability issues. Again, this can be downloaded from either Apple’s site or the Software Update function.

Firmware Restoration CD 1.6

What do you do if things go wrong with all these updates? You use the firmware restoration CD of course ! Now up to 1.6, download the version for your Mac from the Apple web site.
