1st gen iPhone shortage hits New York City

Hot on the heels of some UK stockists selling out of 8GB iPhones, it seems a similar thing is going on over in the US of A. Benny Goldman reports over on Gizmodo that whilst in the NYC Apple Store, he noticed a line of around 30 people. When he enquired as to what they were queueing for he was told they were after iPhones. Apparently they had been out of stock all week, and presumably word had got out that they were back in stock. With a new and presumably improved version due to be released in the next couple of months (hopefully!), the fact that people are actually queuing for the old one is quite remarkable ! The power of Apple’s little wonder-box in full force !
