AT&T + Starbucks = WiFi madness

No doubt you’ve already witness the chaos that surrounds AT&T’s deal with Starbucks to include free WiFi for iPhone users whilst inside the world’s favourite coffee chain. First it was on, then it wasn’t, then it was – and even usable for a period, then it wasn’t again. At one point even AT&T’s own website was caught mentioning the deal !
Now Fletcher Cook, an AT&T spokesman has finally broken the company’s silence over the debacle after being cornered by The New York Times. He claims the website posting was simply ‘human error’ but declined to offer a date for the proper roll out.
So, at least it definitely is going to happen, but they aren’t letting on when. My guess is around the 3G model’s launch when they can get some free press. Am I getting cynical in my old age?
