App of the week: Moleskine by Databinge
Every once in a while I come across an app that makes a difference to the way I work, whether it be useful for my social life, the-iBlog or work in general. From today we will be focussing on one iPhone app a week, giving a sort of mini-review of its features and why you should be using it too.

This week’s app is Moleskine, by the guys over at Databinge. Moleskine is a note taking application that also allows you to create folders and sub-folders for your notes, making it much easier to keep track of what you were thinking at the time, and in which category it may fall. The appearance of these folders, and indeed your notes can be customised using Moleskine themes that are also downloaded via installer.
A very useful feature that was added in one of the recent updates to the app is the ability to email notes from within Moleskine, which I’m currently finding a godsend. You see, my main use for this little gem currently is for jotting down notes for this web site, and even creating the posts themselves. Then I just need to email the text out to my desktop and a quick copy/paste later I’m ready to format. This is what the original Apple Notes app should have been !
To download Moleskine add http://repo.databinge.com (in Utilities section) to your installer sources. v0.46b1 is the latest version, adding better placement of the ‘Email Note’ option.

Hopefully you’ll be able to find a use for Moleskine too. The app is free, but the icons customisation is only available after donating. Given the quality of the app and the regular updates, it’s got to be worth it !
