It’s long been suspected, but Gizmodo reckon it’s no confirmed: iPhone 3G will be released at WWDC on June 9th.

The author of their post claims a source close to the launch has confirmed to them that this is indeed when we will be seeing the updated wonder-phone for the first time. Presumably held by some bloke sporting jeans and a turtle-neck jumper !

As with pretty much all the iPhone news that’s being banded about, I’m taking this with a pinch of the salty stuff. Having said that it’s pretty obvious this is when we’re going to see a launch, so why we’re still getting ‘Breaking News’ about it I’m not certain. I’m more interested in knowing what colour it’s going to be, how big it is and what it will or won’t do that the current model does or doesn’t. Will this thing be a revolution or simply an evolution of something that’s already pretty darn good? Much, much more importantly, will we be able to unlock and jailbreak it !? Answers on a postcard.
