If I ever need to do a hard reset on the phone, I can just reinstall the custom firmware and all my apps are preinstalled. In theory, Pwnage was supposed to allow the jailbreaking of firmware 2.0 from day one. I'm not sure that's the case any more though since it seems to be impossible to install the latest betas on a pwned iPhone.
