I think why most of us (globally) are excited is because we just can’t get V1 at the moment, also there’s only one provider in Australia that has Edge support and they’re pretty much priced out of the market. 3G opens up a lot more options here.

This is definitely something worth mentioning. I reckon that much of the success behind the current iPhone, and certainly why I bought one, is that it trod the line temptingly between what the gadget lover would consider ‘want’ and ‘need’. I reckon the web browsing, email, and sheer ease-of-use was so miles ahead of the competition at the time, it became a bit of a ‘I NEED one of those’ kind of things. I don’t think these improvements have the same kind of wow-factor that would make all current iPhone owners want to upgrade straight away, but then again, what could they implement that would?
