App of the week: Intelliscreen from Intelliborn
This week’s ‘App of the week’ is from a company called Intelliborn. Intelliscreen is an app that allows you to display a variety of information on your lock-screen, saving you time when doing common tasks.

The full features list reads:
- View Calendar, Email, Text Messages, News, Sports, and Weather from your iPhone “Slide To Unlock” screen
- Smooth scrolling across each item to quickly glimpse at your data
- Auto-Checks Email when you view the unlock screen - no need to “Refresh” from Mail.app or wait 15 minutes
- Go directly to the application of your choice with a “Swipe”
- Precise International Weather (by Zip) provided by Weather Underground.com
- News Feeds include Yahoo!, CNN, Fox News, and Reuters (more coming soon!)
- ESPN Sports Feeds include MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL, NCAA Men’s Football and NCAA Women’s Basketball
- Customizing your IntelliScreen™ is easy! Choose which content you want to view and where
- Mail and Text Messages can be shown only if new items are available
Where Intelliscreen really shines is the ability to launch an app straight from the lock-screen. Swipe the item you want and you’re transported to the relevant app, be it Safari, Mail etc. So far I’ve been running this for a few days and not had any problems at all. Some have mentioned a drop in battery life since installing Intelliscreen, but that hasn’t been my experience so far. I’ll report back though if this becomes an issue.
All in all Intelliscreen is one of those apps you wonder how you ever lived without it. It can be downloaded and via Installer and the Intelliborn source.
