Microsoft show Windows 7, joins the Multi-Touch party

Microsoft showed us a sneak-peak of windows 7 at D6 the other day, running live on a Dell Lattitude XT.

The Redmond guys have been rather cagey about Windows 7 thus far, and we were only shown ‘the smallest snippet’ according to MS CEO Steve Ballmer. The video after the jump shows off a Multi-Touch-like interface, with the now rather unexciting dragging and resizing of photos. I’m pretty sure I can do that on my iPhone right now….

Another thing worries me slightly about all this touch sensitivity they seem to be building into the OS. Did Microsoft not try this before with the ill-fated Tablet PC? I’ve never actually seen one in the flesh, which goes to show what a rip roaring success that was.

Either way, it’ll surely sell bucket loads of copies - video after the jump.

All them Apps in that Video are useless and will be enjoyed for like 10 minutes then forgotten about, wish they would show it doing something we use computers for, e.g. web browsing

They know it’ll sell loads of copies for that already. Think they’re trying to show off stuff OS X doesn’t do…..yet.
