3G iPhone to be as cheap as £100 in the UK?

With WWDC and the impending announcement of a 3G iPhone the world is going iPhone crazy. One thing that no-one knows though is how much the new super iPhone will be.

But fear not, as if you’re in the UK you could be in for a treat. According to phonesreview.co.uk the next iPhone could be subsidised by the carrier O2, similar to the way they sold the remaining number of their original handsets. With this in mind, talk is of a £100 price tag. There is however surely one caveat: How do they make sure you sign up to their tariffs?

I can only speculate that they will return to the traditional idea of making you sign up in-store which could be a problem for those of us who don’t want to be tied to an O2 contract. Hopefully the Apple Stores will carry on as they do now !
