To add to the list of Apple Stores already open in the UK, it appears Apple are getting ready to open another. This time the town of Doncaster (not far from the Meadowhall store as it happens) looks to be the venue.

The recently redeveloped Frenchgate Centre is home to many of the country’s top brands, and Apple will be the next to join in on the action.

No opening date as yet, but rest assured you’ll know as soon as we do.

Do you live in or near Doncaster? Does this latest news make you fear for your wallets?

Edit: after some digging around it appears to not be an actual Apple store, but rather a ‘ premium reselller ‘ False alarm folks!

The store is to be operated by a company called Apogaeum, but their website makes no mention of a Doncaster store. In fact, the entire web site seems to be just an image. Odd, very.

This is surprising news to me to say the least! Am originally from Doncaster and will be moving back there soon. The new Frenchgate is an improvement over the old one no doubt but, at the risk of sounding like a bit of an arse, it hasn’t changed the people that shop there ;) I reckon if Apple are opening a shop in Donny, they’re trying to appeal to a wider section of the market. That’ll be two shops now in South Yorkshire, and none in the arguably more affluent West Yorkshire (Leeds in particular).

Jez-Turns out it’s a premium dealer, not actually owned a Apple.

At least Doncaster doesn’t smell of fish like Hull! ;)

Just got chance to have a look at the apogaeum web site. The whole thing’s an image, which is a little odd. No mention of the Doncaster store on there at all either. Doesn’t inspire confidence.

Still no mention on the website about the donny store. I am keen to know when it is opening; as I am thinking of applying for a job in there!
