Apple Store to open in Doncaster, UK – World Exclusive?

To add to the list of Apple Stores already open in the UK, it appears Apple are getting ready to open another. This time the town of Doncaster (not far from the Meadowhall store as it happens) looks to be the venue.
The recently redeveloped Frenchgate Centre is home to many of the country’s top brands, and Apple will be the next to join in on the action.

No opening date as yet, but rest assured you’ll know as soon as we do.
Do you live in or near Doncaster? Does this latest news make you fear for your wallets?
Edit: after some digging around it appears to not be an actual Apple store, but rather a ‘ premium reselller ‘ False alarm folks!
The store is to be operated by a company called Apogaeum, but their website makes no mention of a Doncaster store. In fact, the entire web site seems to be just an image. Odd, very.

Just got chance to have a look at the apogaeum web site. The whole thing’s an image, which is a little odd. No mention of the Doncaster store on there at all either. Doesn’t inspire confidence.

Still no mention on the website about the donny store. I am keen to know when it is opening; as I am thinking of applying for a job in there!

I have pursued a job at Apogaeum twice now and I’m afraid they have all been filled (fingers crossed for Waterstones). On the massive poster it said ‘Opening In August’. In late August when I rang about the job (the second time around) they told me it is definately opening in September… October be-eth here and still no Apogaeum :/ But when I walk by, there is construction sounds, so possibly the front is being jazzed up for the grand opening.

[...] The blog’s still getting a fair few hits from people searching for an Apple Store in Doncaster, and presumably they mean the Apogaeum reseller I posted about way back in May. [...]

I also have it on good authority that Apogaeum will not now be opening at all. Also, has anyone noticed that their Warrington branch is closed due to “water leakage and other unforeseen issues”??
A little suss if you ask me…….

It’s Doncaster in Melbourne Australia, not Doncaster, England. It is an Apple company retail store, not a reseller.
You all sound a bit like the Yanks who think the greenback is the only currency in the world called a dollar.

Although the original rumour is indeed true. apple are opening a ‘proper’ store in the frenchgate as well as krcs. one of the walls said ‘coming soon, apple store’. this is going to be rather messy….

actually if you read what the sign on the wall says, it says “Discover apple at KRCS”
KRCS is the only apple retailer to be opening in doncaster any time soon. there are no plans for official apple stores to be opening here AT ALL. be serious, dont you think the directors did their homework before spending thousands kitting out a new shop….

This is surprising news to me to say the least! Am originally from Doncaster and will be moving back there soon. The new Frenchgate is an improvement over the old one no doubt but, at the risk of sounding like a bit of an arse, it hasn’t changed the people that shop there
I reckon if Apple are opening a shop in Donny, they’re trying to appeal to a wider section of the market. That’ll be two shops now in South Yorkshire, and none in the arguably more affluent West Yorkshire (Leeds in particular).
