Yes I know it’s strange title, but stay with me for a moment…..

I have a Great Dane and his name is Jasper. He’s big. Very big. He’s so big and not to mention heavy that when he wants to play, you don’t really get much option. Look at him though, and you want one. Monkey Ball is like Jasper, looks great but is totally uncontrollable !

Yes it’s a poor link, but that’s all you’re getting. Monkey Ball is without doubt the best looking application to come out if the App Store to date. The colours are vibrant and the frame rate smooth. See it in motion and you’ll be clicking the install button quicker than a monkey can fall off a floating platform !

But there’s one problem with Monkey Ball and it’s a deal breaker. IT’S IMPOSSIBLE TO CONTROL ! No, really. The tilting of my iPhone doesn’t seem to have any connection to what’s happening on-screen. It’s like the sensitivity is set way too high. Unfortunately there’s no way to adjust it, although there is talk of this being added in an update.

It’s not like it’s just me either. The interweb is full of people saying the same thing.

Of course having said all that, I can’t stop playing the damn thing. Come on Sega. Sort out the controls and you’re onto a winner !
