This is going to be a fairly short post, mainly thanks to the fact I’m posting this from my iPhone. That’s also to blame for a distinct lack of any linkage and/funky formatting. Remember, it’s all about the content people !
Actually, that brings me right onto my first point tonight; the iPhone’s keyboard.
I listen to a lot of podcasts that are dedicated to either Apple itself, or general technology. The likes of Macbreak weekly/The week in tech and Buzz Out Loud are my fabourites, but the host of the respective shows both seem to complain about the same thing. That, cherished readers, is the iPhone’s touch keyboard.
It seems people just don’t like it. They reckon they can’t use it. Why not?! Now admittedly I’ve got small hands and somewhat nimble fingers, but I find typing this with my thumb a fairly simple task. Am I the only one ? I think people need to trust the auto-correction a bit more.
Another thing to catch my eye this week is the possibility of a Blu-ray drive for the Xbox 360. It’s something that’s not exactly a surprise, but it’s got to be hurting the guys over at MS. Not only has their HD-DVD format been killed off, but it looks like they’re going to have to use the same format their main competitor is backing. Ouch !
It’ll be interesting to see how well something like this would sell. Are they too late to the party ? Perhaps.
Finally there’s the Macbook event whatsit next week. I’m going to reserve judgement until I see what Apple has up its sleeve. All I want is a nice, cheap Apple webbook. Release that and I’ll be the first in the queue at the Apple Store !
