Video: Applications launching with the SSD

30 November, 2008 (22:22) | , , | 2 comments

I’ve had a few requests for a video showing off how quickly my MacBook launches a few apps with the OCZ SSD so thought (original post here) I’d throw up a quick and dirty effort for your viewing pleasure.
The applications are Safari, Mail, Evernote and iCal, all launched after a reboot.
Vid after the jump !

TestFreaks is Metacritic for everything else

A web site I use a lot for game or movie reviews is Metacritic.com. The brilliance of metacritic is the way it takes multiple reviews of something, collates them and then generates an overall review score. It a great one-stop-shop for reviews of media such as movies, games and music and if you don’t […]

While playing around with a couple of applications today, I realized that my iPhone was showing up in Cyberduck over Bonjour, something I’d somehow managed to not figure out until now ! Now I use BossPrefs to turn off SSH when I’m not using it, but I know a lot of people won’t. This […]

Just as an update for those people, the company now expects to be opening its Frenchgate store in October 08, though given this has been […]

Your unibody MacBook not jazzy enough? Laser the thing !

This is so cool, I’ve got to find somewhere to get it done !
Once again boredom got the better of me, and I found myself browsing through the wonderful world of Flickr. During my random clicking of all things Mac related, I stumbled upon one of the greatest things to grace my eyes since […]

The ‘hobby’ gets an update to 2.3

20 November, 2008 (13:17) | , | No comments

Remember Big Steve famously calling the Apple TV a hobby? Luckily someone at Apple didn’t get that memo, and we’ve been treated to a nice shiny update for everyone’s favourite forgotten baby.

According to the change log over on the Apple support site, the update gives us:

AirTunes Streaming from Apple TV - Music can be […]

Video review: Blackberry Storm

18 November, 2008 (17:41) | , , , | No comments

I’m sure I’m not the only iPhone user who’s interested in how well the Blackberry Storm lives up to the hype. It’s been billed as yet another potential iPhone killer, but actually reading up on the thing makes me think it’ll be the closest thing yet.
Jason D. O’Grady over at The Apple […]
