Cycorder - video recording on the iPhone

When I was getting ready for the arrival of my new Solid State Drive, I found myself needing some way to record video, and not being able to find my camera resulted in me being sat looking at my iPhone. Why the **** doesn’t this thing have the ability to record video ?! To the internet !

Once again, Google was indeed my friend, and I found myself staring at a post about Cycorder over on MacNN.

Cycorder is available via Cydia on your jailbroken iPhone, and is pretty good. There doesn’t seem to be any audio support unless I’m doing something wrong, but the quality of the video is pretty damn nice. You can head on over to my Youtube channel and check out a couple of videos made using the app, though obviously Youtube isn’t the best of quality anyway.

There’s no easy way to get the videos off the iPhone unfortunately, with SSH being the only way I could find. Hopefully this will be addressed in a future update.

So to sum up, if you don’t need audio support and don’t mind messing around with SSH then Cycorder is the way to go.

Made some interesting videos with Cycorder? Throw me a link in the comments below !
