It’s been a while since we went from USB to USB 2.0, and this coming Monday will see the unveiling of the next iteration of Universal Serial Bus.

There guys over on Gizmodo are throwing around numbers along the lines of 25GB transfers in 70 seconds, which compared to the 13 minutes you’ll currently have to wait with USB 2.0, is quite phenomenal !

Still smarting from the exclusion of Firewire on the new MacBooks? Now even the USB ports are going to be out of date too ! Fear not though, USB 3.0 will be backwardly compatible.
