Latest Safari update breaks HSBC online banking
Thanks to ‘Frank Butcher’ over on OCUK forums for putting me onto this
Bank with HSBC and use online banking? Updated to the latest version of Safari ? Yup me too. Unfortunately something’s gone belly-up and the update breaks HSBC’s services, which is nice.
Try to log in as usual and you’ll be faced with this rather polite notice:

So the only fix is to change browsers? Ouch !
Hopefully they’ll make some changes at the HSBC end that will fix this, but I’d love to know what changed in Safari for this to happen. If you should happen to know, let me know too !
Any other online services affected like this ?
EDIT: As of the Leopard security update from 12/Feb this issue is now resolved. Finally !

Ooh fame at last!
Safari and HSBC is still broke now as well. It has been well over a month now with no fix, there is hundreds of people moaning over various locations on the net. I don’t want to shift from Safari as I really like it as a browser but im getting ever closer to downloading Firefox onto my MBP.
Now to find your SSD blog posts…
@Frank – I’ve had to download FireFox just for looking at my bank account ! Surprised it’s not been sorted by now to be honest.
Search for SSD in the search bar, should kick up a few posts for you
