Handy Tweetie tip: Tweet Mobile Safari links
As anyone who follows me on Twitter will know, my current iPhone tweeting tool of choice is the excellent Tweetie. I like how it’s managed to combine a simple user interface with the power of a desktop client (Tweetdeck, for example)
One feature I’ve been looking for in an iPhone client though, is a way to tweet links to webpages without memorizing the URL. I didn’t see how this was going to be possible though, at least without replacing Mobile Finder as my browsing application of choice. Oh how I was wrong !
Here, ladies and gents, is possibly the funkiest Tweetie function out there, and I still don’t know how they’ve managed it.
To start the wheels of magic in motion, you’ll need to find the website you want to tweet about in Mobile Safari just as normal. Following that, tap the address bar and add ‘tweetie:’ before the address and hit GO. The browser will close, Tweetie will fire-up and a new tweet will be created, complete with shortened URL. How cool is that !?

Like I say, I don’t understand how they’ve done it, and to be honest I don’t care. Needless to say, you can expect a barrage of links to all kinds of awesome websites through my Twitter account (are you following yet ?)
Thanks to @dan13l for bringing this little tip to my attention !
