Put your tabs back where the should be in Safari 4 beta
I’m not going to go through all the bells and whistles Safari 4 brings to the table, that’s been done to death all over the internet. Instead, what I do offer you is a way to get around what according to Twitter is the main reason people are divided over the latest beta of Apple’s new browser: the odd tab placement.
Thanks for the must go to Swedishcampground.com for finding this.
Righty. You’ll be wanting to have Safari closed before you do this. It might not be strictly necessary, but when I tried it with the browser open my MacBook locked up, so better save any important work whilst you’re at it !
Next open Terminal.app and past in the following code:
defaults write com.apple.Safari DebugSafari4TabBarIsOnTop -bool NO
Hit enter, close Terminal.app and you’re golden. Launch Safari and you should be greeted by all the shininess of the beta, minus the horrid tabs.
Changing the ‘NO’ to a ‘YES” reverses the process.
Everyone is indeed a winner !
How are you finding Safari 4 ? Do you like the inclusion of Coverflow in everything Apple puts out ? Comment below or send me an @reply on Twitter !
