This week’s technology links – Week 34
This is the start of a series of weekly posts highlighting a handful of technology links I found interesting in the past week.
I must confess to getting the idea for these posts from Andrew Mason (Twitter link) over on his DidIGetThingsDone blog. Thanks Andrew – hope you don’t mind !
The links in these posts are just some of the ones I have shared through Google Reader. You can keep up to date on these either by following me on Twitter or Google Reader.
So here we go!
Here are my links for this week:
- Apple kicking themselves they didn’t buy Grand Central first ? – The iPhone Blog
With all the problems Apple have been having with their blocking of Google’s Voice app, are Apple wishing they’d bought Grand Central before Google ?
- Walmart recalls 1.5m flammable Duraband DVD players – Engadget
Remember folks, if something’s cheap, it’s usually because they’re about to burst into flames. Thankfully Walmart are offering refunds. That’s nice of them.
- iPhone capable of High-Definition video playback ? – MacRumors
Reports are suggesting the iPhone 3GS can play back not only play 720p video, but 1080p as well. That’s all well and good, but until Apple see fit to enable it for use it’s pretty useless !
- Photo comparison of matte, glossy display MBP – MacNN
With Apple announcing they are now offering a $50 matte display option for MacBook Pros, MacNN have got their hands on one and thrown together a couple of comparison shots. Personally, I like the glossy screen on my MacBook !
Remember, I’ll be posting some more links same time next week.
