Forbes.com are reporting that Apple have purchased chip manufacturer PA Semi. The company currently produces chips that could be used in devices such as the iPhone and iPods.

It looks like someone over in the Radio Shack marketing department will be getting a talking to this morning after the company ran an ad featuring an iPod touch, complete with Installer and Mobile Chat icons !

Zibri, of Ziphone fame, has posted o his blog that a line of code in the latest beta firmware shows that the next iPhone will indeed be 3G, and use the Infineon SGOLD3 chip.
The current iPhone used the SGOLD2 EDGE chip, if anyone was wondering….
